Part 1:
Q: Will all sharks in Hungry Shark Evo get an evolution?
A: We believe all sharks deserve to be fin-tastic and explore their full potential. We'll see what the future brings for all our wonderful sharks!
Q: What has been your overall favorite update to work on?
A: There have been many enjoyable updates, however, my overall favourite is yet to come... Get ready for spooky (sharkpooky?) season! (This answer was given before October 2024 referring to "The Curse of Hungry Shark Evolution" update)
Q: Do you plan to create any new portals or maps?
A: Yes! We plan to bring our sharks to wreak havoc in even more places! Before releasing any new features, like these, we want to ensure they are defined and tested. Only the best things take time.
Q: Have you, or do you plan to, remake some of the sharks? For example, will you remake their looks or abilities?
A: We have been sending some of our sharks to the spa and to get beautifying treatments, in both their coding and in appearance; they really liked it, so we'll continue to do this.
Q: Do you plan to create new special sharks, like Robo Shark and others in that category?
A: For us, every shark is special, but to answer your question, yes, more quirky special sharks will join the ranks in future updates!
Q: What is the best location in the game?
A: In terms of aesthetic, for me the best location is the Titanic map. From a gameplay perspective my favourite place is the Anglerfish Caves as they can prove an interesting challenge for small sharks and a big boost of food reserves for bigger sharks.
Q: What is the most powerful shark in Hungry Shark Evolution?
A: The most powerful shark in my opinion is Kraken, since its Tentacle drill (boost ability) can destroy anything on its path, and the Tentacle Saw (GR ability) is super wide and targets a lot of preys at once. Others might have different opinions, it depends on your preferred playstyle.
Q: Do you plan to create any new big bosses?
A: The sharks don't really enjoy not being the baddest, biggest boss in the ocean, so we might refrain from annoying them.
Q: Why were Power-Ups removed from the game?
A: Testing internally and externally is always different. We saw that we needed to tweak the feature a bit more, so we removed it in order to be able to make the necessary adjustments for an enjoyable gameplay experience. They were recently been reactivated!
Q: Who is Kempy Bass?
A: This is a fun one... Kempy Bass is an Easter egg from one of the first developers of Hungry Shark Evolution, whose nickname was Kempy!
Part 2:
Q: Out of all animals, why did you choose sharks?
A: Because sharks are the best animals - True story!
Q: Why do you have two different shark games? Is Hungry Shark World the sequel to Hungry Shark Evolution?
A: Yes, you could say that World is the sequel to Evolution, released later. As for the two Shark games, we wanted to explore different gameplay features. (We also have Hungry Dragon for those who crave more excitement!)
Q: For how many years have the Hungry Shark games been live?
A: Hungry Shark Evolution was released on iOS in 2012 and for Android in 2013. Hungry Shark World was released in 2016.
Q: Do you have a favourite shark?
A: We asked a few of our developers this question:
HSE Producer: Behellmouth (I love when he uses his claws when you activate his abilities)
HSE Junior QA Tester: Alan (He has a super cool design)
Principal Game Designer: The Reef Shark (because it’s the first of them all)
Q: Luminite, Nessie, Moby Dick, Great White, Megalodon and more currently don't have an evolved stage. Is there a specific reason why these have not been developed yet?
A: In theory, eventually, all sharks should develop an evolved form. However, we currently don’t have a specific timeline for when we’ll begin working on particular evolutions.
Q: Do you have any specific evolution ideas for sharks that currently doesn’t have an evolution in the game? And would you be open to hearing fan suggestions, as an example, making Moby Dick evolve into a Basilosaurus.
A: When developing evolutions, we start by examining the shark and brainstorming ideas on what would be suitable for that specific shark. We are always delighted to receive fan suggestions, so feel free to forward your ideas to us via social media.
Q: Have you considered the concept of introducing a ‘Super Evolution’ feature? This could serve as a second stage, making the sharks stronger than in their first evolution
A: Creating a ‘Super Evolution’ for sharks is not currently planned. We have considered the possibility of exploring and expanding the general concept of Evolution for some sharks, however, we cannot promise that this feature will be implemented.
Q: Which shark has the highest boost stat in the game?
A: It depends on several values, such as the minimum and maximum boosts (the upgrades you can purchase) and how frequently you use the boost while playing. Currently, Alan has the highest boost value, but it recovers slowly. So, overall, the answer to your question depends on how you use the upgrades and play the game.
Q: When will you host a new community challenge where fans can design a shark concept, and you add it to the game, like you did with Luminite?
A: We loved the creativity you, our community, showed in our last contest - it was a very fun experience! However, before hosting another contest like this, we need to consider several factors, such as our roadmap, features, updates, etc. Additionally, we need to ensure all legal terms are clearly defined and fixed. Perhaps in the future - we need to plan far ahead for this.
Q: Are there any plans to introduce unique sharks, such as seasonal sharks, hybrids, prehistoric reptiles, Leviathans, jellyfish sharks, mythological creatures like The Bloop or El Gran Maja, giant octopuses, ancient species, lobsters, black dragons, or Aztec-themed sharks with spears?
A: Those are some fascinating ideas, and we appreciate your suggestions. We actually have a shark that’s half horse, which we think is quite unique! (Aren’t you traumatized enough?) These ideas are fun, however, it has to work with our roadmap and plans for the game. You are of course always welcome to forward your suggestions to us!
Q: What are the most important things you need to keep in mind before creating a new shark?
A: We consider how to make each shark unique, ensuring it doesn’t resemble others in the game. This involves both visual design and gameplay experience.
Q: When will a new non-special shark be introduced to the game?
A: We know you’re all excited and enthusiastic about new non-special sharks. We are always working on cool things, but we don’t want to spoil any future surprises.
Q: Do you think that there may be a playable axolotl character in the future?
A: This could potentially be a pet instead of a shark, as it is too cute, but we can’t make any promise to implement this request.
Q: Considering that there are already four "supernatural creatures that can shoot lasers and have no resemblance to fish" in Hungry Shark Evolution, and there are also two in Hungry Shark World, will more sharks without laser capabilities be added in the future?
A: This is quite a specific question, and unfortunately, we can’t provide detailed information at this time. You’ll have to stay tuned to see what we release in future game updates!
Q: How many sharks do you intend to include in the game overall?
A: We’re thrilled with our current roster of sharks, but we’re always planning new features and surprises. Keep playing to see what’s coming next!
Q: Could you fix the Behemoth’s land animation and ability glitch/ Why can't Aaron the Destruktor kill enemy sharks or jellyfish during gold rush.
A: We are currently working on animations for specific sharks, including Behemoth. If you notice any bugs with a particular shark, such as a glitch with an ability, an item, boost or gold rush, please contact our Customer Support Team and provide as much detail as possible so our team can address it.
Q: Why is Darkhammer a slower shark? Should it not be faster since it is an evolution?
A: Darkhammer is still classified as one of our beginner sharks, so its evolution has limitations compared to some of the more advanced sharks.
Q: How long does it take to create a new shark model?
A: The time required varies for each shark. Sometimes, the concept and brainstorming phase takes longer because we need to ensure the new shark is visually distinct and has unique abilities. Other times, the 3D modeling, ability scripting, and testing phases take longer, as we need to test various interactions with both fish and enemies.
Q: When will new skins to be introduced to the game?
A: Introducing new skins for the sharks is not in our current plans, but there’s potential for skins to be added in the future.
Q: The map terrains in Hungry Shark Evolution are a little rough compared to the terrains in Hungry Shark World. Are there any plans for updating the terrain quality?
A: We are working on optimizing the game while preserving many of the nostalgic elements that many players cherish.
Q: Why was the user interface for Hungry Shark Evolution reworked? And will there be an option to select the 2016 version in the future? The old UI and shark seemed more detailed and it would be nice to play with those graphics again, in a "classic version".
A: The old interface was overly complicated and couldn’t support the newer game versions, leading to poor performance and player experience. Therefore, we had to redesign it. We understand it holds a lot of nostalgia for many, but bringing it back would require completely redoing a lot of coding, making it even more complicated.
Q: When will ocean care events be released?
A: Our Green Game Jam event launched in early August, where participants helped clean the ocean by vacuuming up trash. We’re already planning next year’s events, so stay tuned for more details!
Q: Have you every thought of introducing a Space-themed part of the game? In that way, the sharks can eat both in the water, in the air and in outer space.
A: As you play as an ocean creature, most of the gameplay occurs underwater. However, your shark can be launched into the air by using the Turbines.
Q: Why aren’t there more enemy versions of evolved sharks?
A: These enemies might be lurking... Awaiting for the right moment to strike... Stay alert!
Q: Would you consider introducing a ‘human mode’ in Hungry Shark Evolution – it could a mode in which players decide if they want to play as a shark/Whale/Fish or human, who could potentially use the submarines.
A: Yes, this is coming on April 1st. Stay tuned *Wink wink*
Q: What happened to the Expeditions mode? Will it return?
A: Expeditions mode is currently being revamped. We identified some areas for improvement, and while we work on these enhancements, the mode has been temporarily disabled.
Q: What is the strongest beginner shark?
A: You begin the game with the Reef shark and gradually unlock other sharks. For beginners, the most significant milestone is unlocking the Hammerhead. We’ve fine-tuned its abilities and movements compared to the other early sharks, so as a new player, you should notice the difference.
Q: What's the most powerful shark?
A: Well, who do you think it is? With both normal and special sharks in the mix, what wild theories do you have?
Q: Why is it that the sharks in Hungry Shark Evolution don’t start with their mouths open when they fall from the sky like those in Hungry Shark World?
A: Because it's two different games and if it looked too closely alike it wouldn’t feel like you’re playing two distinct adventures!
Q: Will old event accessories, like Fin Free, Azula and others, return for future events?
A: We plan to rework many of our accessories to create a better balance between them. In doing so, some of the old ones may make a return.
Q: Have you considered making skins for the evolved sharks?
A: In their evolved state, they are also looking fashionable !
Q: Are there any plans to develop new sea creatures and add them to the current maps?
A: We’re currently brainstorming some potential ideas that we can’t share just yet. However, we believe you’ll really enjoy them if we decide to implement them into the game.
Q: Will you add new game modes, like the Extinction mode from Hungry Shark World to Hungry Shark Evolution?
A: We are continuously brainstorming new features to enhance gameplay, such as Expeditions and Power Ups. We have even more ideas in our backlog that we’re currently defining. However, while these ideas might work well during internal testing, they can behave differently once implemented on live servers, sometimes requiring reworks.
Q: Will there be future April Fools’ events?
A: What's April Fools'?
Q: Do you plan to add a background for the shark menu in Hungry Shark Evolution?
A: We’ve discussed various background options, including the possibility of a dynamic background. In the past, we conducted minor tests with different shades, but they didn’t perform well. For now, we’ve decided to keep the current background and reassess in the future.
Q: Does Hungry Shark Evolution have prizes players can earn by playing daily?
A: By playing the game daily, you can earn rewards such as games and in-game currency! Don't miss out on these goodies!
Q: Will you add new collectibles in the maps? Like new chests or items?
A: Absolutely! Additionally, we would like to review all the items currently on the map to identify which ones might need minor optimizations, as some of them are quite old.
Q: Why was the High Jump removed?
A: High Jump is one of the missions for the Tiger Shark. You can equip items that increase your shark’s speed, allowing you to perform higher jumps out of the water using the boost feature.
Q: Why are there enemies in the sky, like the jetpack and Robo sharks?
A: Otherwise life would be too boring! These were added to spice up the gameplay by adding a bit of danger! You are playing as the largest predators in the ocean after all.
Q: In Hungry Shark World, when sharks launch into the sky, they see coloration of day, dawn and night. In Evolution the sharks get launched into space, why was this difference made?
A: Just as we strive to make each shark unique, we also aim to ensure that Hungry Shark Evolution and Hungry Shark World have distinct differences between them.
Q: Why are the evolutions more expensive than some of the newer sharks?
A: In every game, upgrades require in-game currency, and the evolved states of the sharks are considered upgrades.
Q: What is the fast way to get more gems?
A: You can collect free gems through daily rewards or by participating in seasonal events. Additionally, you might stumble upon gem fish while playing the game. However, the quickest way to acquire gems is by purchasing them from the in-game shop.
Q: Will it be possible to buy the Flame Thrower with gems or gold?
A: We’ll definitely consider it. Admit it – you just want an easier way to make fried fish, don’t you?
Q: Have you considered organizing a significant event or future collaboration between the Hungry games and another Ubisoft title to draw in new players, while also providing current players the opportunity to earn unique sharks or items?
A: We’ve already made some cool additions: an Assassin shark pet inspired by Assassin’s Creed and items from Skull and Bones, so you can dress your shark like a real pirate! We’re on the lookout for more fun collaborations to introduce in the future!
Q: Why do you only have so few shorts on your YouTube channel / Are there any plans to create a movie, TV Series or animated mini-series based on Hungry Shark?
A: We’re glad that you enjoy our Hungry mini animations – creating them was a blast! However, these animations take a lot of time to produce.. While there’s potential for more in the future, we don’t have plans to continue at the moment. If you’re craving more Hungry content, check out our TikTok profile for exclusive videos! https://www.tiktok.com/@hungryshark
Q: Are there going to be more Hungry Shark plushies available for purchase?
A: All our Plushie sharks have found their forever homes, and unfortunately, we don’t plan to release more.
Q: Why is the main theme of Hungry Shark not on Spotify?
A: Because our sharks can’t listen to it – Spotify doesn’t work underwater.
Q: Will any of the sharks from Hungry Shark Evolution ever get added to Hungry Shark World and vice versa?
A: This has great potential – Alan does appear in both games after all. While we can’t confirm anything right now, maybe in the future.
Q: Which of the Hungry Shark games has been the hardest to make?
A: Game development is both fun and challenging. The Hungry Shark games each offer unique gameplay, which makes it hard to define – it’s been tricky for our office sharks, who struggle to type on keyboards with their fins.
Q: Would you consider making it an option to buy the premium passes with Gems? (World)
A: We are exploring the optimal way to utilize the pass and how it can benefit you, the players. During this investigation, the current answer is not right now.
Q: Have you considered incorporating an ‘online’/ ‘multiplayer’ mode into the game, which would allow people to add each other as friends to play together or fight against each other?
A: We’re sticking to our offline roots! Adding online features would mess with the core fun of playing anywhere, anytime. So, no online shenanigans – just pure, offline shark-chomping goodness!
Q: Are there any plans to create a safe mode, allowing players to play without the risk of dying and continue for as long as they want in a single run?
A: Changing this would turn Hungry Shark into a leisurely swim in the kiddie pool! Say goodbye to the thrill, the adventure, and the hungry challenge that makes the game so shark-tastic!
Q: Will the controls get reworked at some point in the future?
A: We aim to keep the controls as simple as possible, so everyone can quickly jump into the game and start playing! Although some sharks have slightly different abilities, their usage remains the same.
Q: Do you have any plans of making items or pets which can resize the sharks?
A: This could be a hilarious disaster – picture your shark growing so huge it can’t even fit on the screen! Or worse, its health bar plummeting because it can’t gobble up food fast enough. Let’s toss this idea into the ‘maybe in the future’ pile and give it a pass for now.
Q: Are there any plans to release a new game in the Hungry Shark Universe?
A: No spoilers here! But I can tell you that our developers’ brains are always buzzing with creative ideas.
Q: Do you plan to add new items within the Passes? If so, how long would it take before these changes were implemented?
A: The progressions system is the same for every player: the more you play, the more sharks you unlock – it’s like a never-ending buffet! We make sure that any new items we add are tasty treats for both newbies and seasoned players. Our game designers are on it every day, making sure the fun never stops!
Q: Do you plan on releasing Hungry Shark as a PC or console game?
A: Hungry Shark World can be purchased and played on PC, PS4, Xbox one, Switch and VR. You can purchase the game for PC here: https://ubi.li/HungrySharkWorldShop and you can search the other platforms for the game.
Q: I have an idea for the game, where can I submit it?
A: We would love to read your ideas, so please feel free to share them with us via social media.
Q: How do you ensure that the game remains challenging yet fair for both newcomers diving in for the first time and seasoned players? What’s your secret to keeping the ecosystem balanced while continuously adding fresh, thrilling content?
A: In Hungry Shark World, the more you play, the more sharks you unlock in the progression system– it’s like a never-ending buffet! We make sure that any new items we add are tasty treats for both newbies and seasoned players. Our game designers are on it every day, making sure the fun never stops!

Q: Are there plans to include features in the future that allow players to adjust frame rate, image quality and saturation of the background and sharks?
A: This would be a very complex task, to introduce more settings changes than what we currently have. The current system is set to give the best experience based on the device. When you launch the game for the first time, the game system detects the type of phone you have, and the game will adjust itself to give you the best experience. You shouldn’t be able to change the saturation on your own device, it’s not something that can be directly changed within the game.
Q: Will there ever be LEGO of Hungry Shark?
A: That could be adorable! But before we dive into a collaboration like this, we need to iron out a lot of details. For now, our sharks are staying in their own waters
Q: Why does it cost so many gems to buy sharks and items?
A: We want to give our players a progression system and goals to achieve – where’s the fun if you could unlock everything in just one go?
Q: How can I report hackers who exploit Hungry Shark Evolution?
A: You can report hackers and other exploiters by creating a support ticket, and providing as much info as you can.
Q: Why does there have to be a Shark trail?
A: How else would you ensure new players learn the ropes of how to be a shark?
Q: What happened to the Hungry Shark Gear website?
A: If you are referring to merchandise, we have currently paused production and halted all operations. We will evaluate the possibility of resuming this in the future, however, we cannot promise anything at this moment.
Q: I am experiencing a bug/glitch/issue/Cloud Save/Transfer with the game. How can I get help to fix this?
