If the timing of the notes shown on the Noteway is not matching the audio, you can use Audio Lag Correction to compensate for the difference.

To correct visual lag from the main menu:

1. Open the Settings menu by selecting the gear icon.
2. Choose Game Options and select Gameplay.
3. Switch to the Noteway Display tab.
4. Highlight the Audio Lag Correction slider and adjust it to your preference.

To correct visual lag while playing:

1. Pause the song.
2. Open the Settings menu by selecting the gear icon.
3. Adjust the Audio Lag Correction slider.

If notes hit the string after the audio, set to a number above 0 ms. If notes hit the string before the audio, set to a number below 0 ms. Finding the right timing will take some experimentation, so you might need to adjust this setting a few times.
