BALANCING
GLAZ
Designer Notes: Glaz’s previous design allowed for impactful one-shot kills in Thermal, but created some confusion around the different firing modes. This change buffs Glaz’s Thermal Flip Scope mode to be closer to the base DMR damage and rate of fire. This removes one-shot possibilities for body shots when in Thermal mode, but the faster fire rate allows for easier headshots in both modes, as well as more consistency in how you navigate between modes during a match. Glaz is also affected by hit registration issues, with several fixes in progress planned for the next season.
Thermal Flip Scope:
Damage reduced to 90 (from 150).
Fire Rate increased to 380 (from 100).
Recoil reduced considerably.
OTs-03 (Non-thermal mode):
Fire Rate increased from 350 to 380.
LESION
Designer Notes: Gu Mines could be triggered from too far away due to character collision sizes. This change should reduce frustrating scenarios without affecting Lesion’s overall usability. We will monitor the effects and see if the detection radius needs to be reduced further.
Decreased Lesion's Gu Mine detection radius to 0.85 (from 1).
FROST
Designer Notes: This prevents Twitch’s Shock Drone from one-shotting the Welcome Mat, while also making it harder for Attackers to destroy the trap while vaulting. We will continue to monitor the effects of this change on Operator balancing.
Increased Welcome Mat's health to 60 HP (from 1).
TWITCH
Designer Notes: Twitch continues to overperform, in part due to the nature of her gadget, but also thanks to her solid Primary Weapon. We’re significantly increasing the F2’s recoil to make entry-fragging more difficult for her. The Welcome Mat health change also means Twitch will have to worry more about triggering them, which turns Frost’s ability into a more apt counter.
Increased Twitch's Primary Weapon recoil.
ATK RECRUIT
Designer Notes: Recruits are meant to be introductory Operators for newcomers, and an all-rounder backup if your main is picked. ATK Recruit was lacking lethality when compared to other Attacker Operators, so we’re increasing her Primary Weapon damage to bring her slightly more in line with other Attackers’ damage capabilities.
Increased Primary Weapon short range damage to 42 (from 35) and long range damage to 35 (from 30).
SLEDGE
Designer Notes: Sledge is the first impression players get of Operator abilities. We find that using his Breaching Hammer can feel stiff and awkward, so we’ve made some improvements on that front and have even more planned for the future.
Sledge can now use his Breaching Hammer faster after equipping it.
Enabled vaulting while having the Breaching Hammer equipped.
BARRICADES
Designer Notes: Breaking barricades and entering the building as Attackers can be a difficult sequence for newcomers. The noise gives your position away and meleeing leaves you defenseless. At higher level play, Attackers should drone or shoot barricades before entering, but this is not the first reflex players have. To address this, we are experimenting with making melee attacks always break barricades in two hits. We will monitor the impact at all play levels.
Barricades can now be broken in 2 melee hits.
Hammer Foregrip attachment is unaffected.
IMPROVEMENTS
SETTINGS
Removed the memory constraint for 120 FPS support.
The feature is now based on the screen refresh rate support and the “Ultra” device grading.
The 120 FPS option will either be hidden if it is not supported by the user’s device, or visible and selectable when the device meets the minimum requirements.
